Empowering Education
Welcome to NVU UK Academy
At NVU UK Academy, our mission is to deliver Educational Excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education.
Founded in July 2025 by Professor Rajesh Varma and Professor Tham Nimal-Raj, the Academy operates as an arms-length educational body under the umbrella of New Vision University (NVU). Through this strategic partnership, we are committed to advancing medical learning, fostering research, and building meaningful educational collaborations in the United Kingdom.
Our current and planned initiatives include:
Trident Primary Care Symposia provides consultant-level updates for primary care twice a year (April and November).
Each event combines core cardiometabolic/diabetes content with rotating sessions in women’s health, oncology, mental health, neurology, respiratory medicine, and future therapies.
Across the annual cycle, delegates gain comprehensive, non-repetitive coverage, with interactive cases, debates, and assessments to boost clinical confidence and meet CPD goals.NVU Medical Student Primary Care Internship (UK) & PLAB training
A two-week, 4-ECTS elective module for NVU MD students,
We aim to run these courses in mid March 2026 and September 2026 at the New Vision University Eco Campus, Tbilisi, Georgia.

Plentiful opportunities to practice PLAB 1 MCQs and PLAB 2 Clinical OSCE stations, with real-time tutor-led feedback.
b) Roadmap for securing UK GMC Provisional Registration and 2-year UK Foundation Year training post
c) Development of research skills, quality improvement project design, to strengthen CVs, in an increasingly competitive UK specialty resident doctor training programme.NVU Postgraduate Certificate courses in Cardiovascular-Renal-Metabolic medicine (CVRM), which include Diabetes.
Bespoke training delivered through flexible part-time online taught modules.
Each PG Certificate is delivered through four stackable micro-credential modules; each module is 15 credits; completed together, they “stack” into a full 60-credit PGCert aligned with UK Higher Education standards.
This stackable design allows busy clinicians to progress at their own pace.
We aim to start this course in June 2026.
More information on these exciting projects will be shared here in due course as our programmes and collaborations expand.
